Taxonomic / nomenclatural notes: The trophi of A. minima are only insufficiently described and no figure seems to have previously been published. According to Von Hofsten (1910) [Ref.15745] trophi resemble that of "A. ecaudis or A. saltans", but lateral hooks are supposedly present on the fulcrum. Such structures, possibly referring to basal apophyses (not yet known in genus Ascomorpha), can not be seen in preparation ANSP 1057 (cf. specimen images by Jersabek et al. (2003) [Ref.15798]). The identity of A. cf. minima after Carlin (1943) [Ref.17082] (not illustrated) requires clarification. It is larger (80 µm) than what has been described by Von Hofsten (43-51 µm) and contains 4 dark defecation reservoirs (not mentioned by Von Hofsten), and lateral hooks are missing on the fulcrum.
