Parent taxa: Genus / Family / Order / Superorder / Subclass / Class Rhinoglena: Epiphanidae: Ploima: Pseudotrocha: Monogononta: Eurotatoria |
Taxonomic / nomenclatural notes: • As could be observed in live specimens from China (Changde, Hunan Province), the dorsal lobe of R. tokioensis is more pronounced as shown in Sudzuki's inaccurate original description, thereby very much resembling that in R. frontalis Ehrenberg. Also, the single toe is bluntly pointed, rather than broadly rounded as shown in Sudzuki's figure (CDJ, March 2016, unpubl.).
• See De Smet & Segers (2017) [Ref.27284] for SEM information on the embryonic development of the malleate trophi in four species of Rhinoglena (incl. R. fertoeensis, R. frontalis, R. kutikovae, R. tokioensis). |
