Description: According to Turner (1990:143) [Ref.17615] this is a freshwater lake. The occurrence of B. plicatilis, along with pure freshwater species (p.144), and Hexarthra fennica (USNM specimen preparation), however, suggest that at least parts of this coastal lake are brackish. It lies in close vicinity to the sea, only separated by a sand bar.
