• The name Veltae is a plural nominative and thus is nomenclaturally unavailable (Art. 11.8: must be, or be treated as, a noun in the nominative singular). The name seems to refer to a people of European Sarmatia, dwelling on both banks of the river Rhubon (Dictionary of Greek and Roman Geography (1854) William Smith, LLD, Ed.)
• According to Rougier & Pourriot (2006:10) [Ref.17503] this is "an 'odd-looking' form of Epiphanes".
